Buick Regal Redesign Slated for 2018
A next-generation Regal is on the way and Europe has the photos to prove it. In America, what is known as the Buick Regal is the Opel Insignia in Europe. Judging from recent spy photos of the Insignia being tested on public roads, it seems we’re getting a whole new Buick Regal redesign for the 2018 model year. Not only that, but the Insignia’s model lineup will expand to include a luxurious wagon body style. Buick recently announced that these models would be coming stateside.
A few descriptors that characterize the new Regal’s look are: athletic, clean lines, low-riding profile, and aggressive stance. Experts are guessing it’s riding on the same E2XX platform as the new Chevy Malibu. If that doesn’t get you excited to snag a closer looking at the upcoming model, maybe this will help: Buick filed a U.S. trademark for the name “Regal TourX” recently, further proving the Insignia’s wagon option will be crossing the Atlantic. It’ll look something like a crossover, featuring standard all-wheel drive.
The Buick Regal redesign should make its way over to U.S. shores as early as mid-2017 with a 2.0-liter turbo engine under the hood.
